The Auditor's office ensures accurate fund management, supports informed decisions, and administers property tax relief to protect Utah County residents.
What Does the Auditor Department Do?
Finance Division Services
Accounting Manages financial reporting, audits, weekly warrants, ledger reconciliation, grant compliance, fixed assets, and county financial policies.
Budgeting Assists departments with budgets, prepares the tentative budget, reviews adjustments, analyzes fees, and manages capital improvements and equipment replacement.
Purchasing Enforces procurement rules, assists with purchases, and oversees purchasing card management.
Other Auditor Functions
Internal Audit Conducts independent audits and consulting services to ensure accountability and transparency. Manages a Tip Hotline for reporting potential misuse of County funds and assets. Develops an annual audit plan for Audit Committee approval, with completed reports published on the County website.
Tax Administration Issues property valuation notices, manages tax relief programs, processes valuation and Greenbelt Rollback appeals, and oversees the May Tax Sale.
Internal Audit
Internal auditing strengthens Utah County by providing independent, risk-based assurance and advice to elected officials and management. It enhances the county's ability to achieve its objectives, improve governance, risk management, and controls, support decision-making and oversight, build credibility with stakeholders, and better serve the public interest.

How Property Taxes Work in Utah

Rod Mann
Prior to being elected County Auditor Rod served as Mayor of Highland City and as a member of Highland's City Council. Rod has held executive positions at a number of high-tech firms. He is committed to transparency and public involvement and has learned through public service to assume good intent, to be slow to judge, and that contention rarely, if ever, leads to positive outcomes.
